Off-grid powered stables and caravan in Dorset

Mr Williams contacted Off Grid Installer with a view to powering two stable blocks with internal and external power sockets outlets, flood lighting illuminate two horse paddocks, security flood lighting for a car park and power provision to suit a large static caravan that was due to be sited at a later date. This project required to be completely self-sustainable for use any time of year and to fall within a strict budget. Mr Williams self-sufficient electrical system charges his batteries throughout the entire year enabling a reliable source of electrical power.

Our specified:

• 6 x LG Neon 2 (the 1very latest LG solar panels) 335 watt solar panels, giving a total of 2010watts or 2.01kw maximum power.
• 1 x 5kw combi inverter
• 4 x 170ah pure lead carbon batteries giving a total of 680ah/8.16kwh total stored capacity
• 6 x pre-made plastic buckets specifically for mounting solar panels on
• 1 x Commando socket for plugging in a standard throw away generator.
• £5500 + VAT was the approximate cost
  

Mr Williams can now charge the batteries throughout the winter period when solar doesn’t produce all the power required for a full battery charge.
