Massive Off-Grid Farm Power System Maintenance! 🔋☀️ Bedfordshire

Headline: Leigh returns to an impressive off-grid farm installation in Bedfordshire for some regular scheduled maintenance and system check-ups!

About This Project: We originally completed this comprehensive off-grid power setup last year to provide independent power for a large working farm that supports 2 to 3 families living on-site. Today, we’re diving into the barn to update firmware, check the massive battery bank, and walk through how this high-output system handles everything the farm throws at it.

System Breakdown:

• Inverters: Two 15 kVA Victron MultiPlus-II inverters running in parallel (single-phase) to deliver a massive 24 kW continuous output—equivalent to a standard 100-amp mains supply.
• Battery Storage: A massive custom-built, insulated battery box housing a 60 kWh battery bank (12 batteries total), fitted with a built-in tube heater to keep them at optimal operating temperatures during cold winter months.
• Solar Arrays:
  • An existing ground-mount solar array running through twin Solis grid-tied inverters, safely programmed for frequency shifting so the system automatically ramps down solar production as the batteries fill up.
  • An additional 10 panels on the shed roof feeding directly into a DC-to-DC charge controller.
• System Controls: Managed by the Cerbo GX “brain” of the system, complete with a color control touch screen, Lynx distributors with mega fuses, and full automated generator integration (complete with auto start/stop signal cabling).
